Kanebo Kate Gradical Eyes

Evie gifted me this Kanebo Kate Gradical Eyes (engrish much??) palette awhile back. The one I have is BU-1.

It includes an eye base that helps make the colors more vibrant. I really like the applicator it comes with. I find that with Japanese shadows, the sponge applicators give a more pigmented application.

I was scared that this would make me look like a cheap Asian hooker since it has light blue shadow in it hehe. My mother has drilled it into my brain since I was little that Asian girls should never wear light blue shadow XD

Surprisingly this palette is really flattering even though it is blue. I suppose it is expected since Kanebo is a Japanese brand lol.

I decided to be brave & give my MAC Fluidline another chance. I guess my eyelids decided to behave today since it didn't smudge all day.

I really like this palette! The shadows are very smooth & easy to blend.
I love how they are not overly shimmery like a lot of other Japanese palettes are. I don't really want to look like I'm headed to the club during the day ^o^

I think these palettes are excellent quality & very flattering on Asian eyes. Definitely recommend trying them out if you can get your hands on them!
Me want moreeee! :D

Forever 21 x Hello Kitty

Last week Forever 21 released their Forever 21 x Hello Kitty collection!! Being the Hello Kitty freak that I am, I couldn't help but get at least one thing from the collection.

A lot of it was a bit too...fob for my taste lol.
Like...I would never wear something with this fobby bow print XD

This sweatshirt caught my eye even though I still think it's pretty fobby. But there's no weird engrish written on it so it passed my test.
The material is decent, since it is mostly cotton.

I am not sure if I will ever wear this in public ^o^ but it's so cute I decided to buy it.

I really wanted this shirt but they didn't have any more smalls =_=

At the last minute, I caved & got these socks. The winking kinda makes HK look like she lost an eye o_-

People didn't go super crazy for this collection, not like the H&M x Versace collection, so there's probably still some stuff left in stores.
It's also sold on the F21 site.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Painted my nails with Dior Czarina Gold which was part of Dior's Holiday Collection last year.
It's a dark brown with gold shimmer in it.

It looks really pretty in the bottle but the gold sparkles don't shine as vibrantly when applied on my nails.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope those who celebrated had a great Thanksgiving!! The weather was really nice that day. The changing leaves look so pretty =]
Took this in front of my house.

My aunt made the turkey & this thing was huge. Barely fits in the container she brought it in!

My grandma made the Chinese food & everyone else just brought whatever they felt like eating, pretty much XD
I made mashed potatoes & baked a pie. And managed to not burn down my kitchen... *Huzzah*

(Do you like the Christmas napkins? Guess my grandma didn't get the memo about it being Thanksgiving LOL)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The holiday season is in full swing!!
Christmas music plays on the radio 24/7 & the tree in SF Union Square is up!

I went to the mall on Black Friday in the afternoon. Sales were mehhhh. Did not end up buying anything :O

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because I find this song super catchy.
Also because Taec looks ridiculously hawt in this performance with his hair like that & when he took off his sunglasses...ohmahgawd *_* (runs off to spazz )
Nosebleeds may occur hehehehehe

Hope you all have a good week!

Christmas Came Early (◕‿◕✿)

A few days ago I received a package from the UK. It was from Joey of Everyday Outfits!

Hehe so many cute things!

She got me the Hello Kitty Liberty Rain Away Umbrella which is only sold in the UK.  You all know I'm a sucker for LE stuff, especially if it's exclusive to a certain country hehe
Ohmahgawd this is the most awesome umbrella ever!! Super cute & not as fobby as I thought it'd be lol. From far away, no one can even tell it's Hello Kitty.

The print is Hello Kitty & apples ^o^

Ahhhhh kawaiiiiiii (I never use this word because I think it sounds way too girly but this is the perfect word to describe!)

Joey also got me a Rimmel Union Jack Palette in Black Cab.
This is so cool!!! Too cool to swatch. I must stare at it for a few more days before using it hahaha.

She also got me another Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick, in 12. I love the formula of these lipsticks. So pigmented & non-drying. And they smell fruity & delicious XD

This is a very bright coral-red.

Oh & Joey stuck in a little extra surprise for me...

..........she gave me MARMITE! HAHAHAHA
It has "yeast extract" written on it....not the most appetizing words to see on something you're about to eat LOL.
So i tried it on some toast & it was really...salty & strange.
Verdict: Hate it!!!
I still prefer Nutella on my toast, thank you very much.
Hehe thanks so much for letting me try it though, Joey!! My curiosity is gone ^o^

Maybe I'll use the rest to trick someone...just spread it in a sandwich & make them eat it muahahahaha

Thanks for the gift Joey!!! Me lahve u long time!! ~(^з^)-☆

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am probably stuffing my face with delicious food right now. Eating a ton of mashed potatoes, turkey, & PIE!!
This is the only Thanksgiving song I know...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Thanksgiving Baking: All-In-One Holiday Bundt Cake

My Thanksgiving baking streak continues. I have made this All-In-One Holiday Bundt Cake the last few Thanksgivings. I found this recipe on the NY Times site.
It seriously tastes like a bite of Thanksgiving when you eat it XD

The ingredients list is long & there's some prep work but it's definitely worth the effort!

Ingredients1 1/4 sticks (10 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Pinch salt
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups canned unsweetened pumpkin purée
1 large apple, peeled, cored and finely chopped
1 cup cranberries, halved or coarsely chopped
1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

Preheat oven to 350F with rack on the center.
Butter or spray your bundt pan with a cooking spray. (My bundt pan is 10in)

Chop the fresh cranberries & peel & chop the apple. Set aside.

Combine dry ingredients. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and ginger powder.
Set aside.

With a hand mixer, beat together the butter and both sugars at medium speed until light and fluffy, 2 or 3 minutes.

Add eggs 1 at a time & beat for 1 minute after each addition.

Beat in vanilla extract.

At low speed, mix in pumpkin puree. It'll look a little curdled & gross but don't worry! All will be well in the end =]

 Stir in apples.

Fold in dry ingredients in 2-3 additions. I like to do it by hand so I don't over mix.

Add cranberries.

Add in chopped pecans.

When everything is combined, pour the batter into the pan.

Bake at 350F for 60-70 minutes.

At 60min, stick a toothpick into the cake. If it comes out clean, it is ready.

Done!

Let it cool completely before inverting it onto a serving plate.
If you buttered or sprayed your pan properly, it should come out easily.

So I failed & forgot to take a picture of the cake after I inverted it, but here's what it looks like on the inside.
It's very moist & you can taste all the spices.
Thanksgiving in your mouth!

It's a good alternative if people in your family aren't a big fan of pumpkin pie.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was obsessed with this song & video when I was in elementary school.
Now that I listen to it again...the lyrics are actually quite dirty for 10 year old me to listen to. LOL

Hope you all have a great holiday! :D

P.S. I will be announcing giveaway winner tomorrow! Stay tuned ^_^
